ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT

Presentation of project proposal
Maglificio Innocenti began life as a small workshop making made-to-measure knitted dresses and skirts. Growing year after year, in the best tradition of its native area, today it is an established leader in the luxury fashion sector. The company successfully meets all the needs of its business clients. Continuous technological investment in terms of human resources, machinery and software is combined with meticulous attention to detail, involving manual checking and hand finishing. The company, which produces knitwear items for major fashion brands, intends to implement and modernise the production process through the addition of a new knitting machine. The current situation presents a number of limitations, as the production cycle employs weaving machines with a working width of less than 150 cm. These are suitable for creating knitwear garments but are unable to create products of a large area used to make women's clothing. Market demand is increasingly based on new kinds of clothing, with innovative aesthetics and elements to differentiate from competitors. The company's Management has therefore chosen to add this new system which can be used both for developing prototypes and for industrial manufacturing. Clients demand a product of the highest quality, and the processing of fine yarns requires technologically advanced machines such as 14 gauge, as well as the need to develop prototypes and samples as quickly as possible. This project aims to meet these market demands with technological innovation through the purchase of a new rectilinear knitting machine with a working width of 213 cm. Doing so will innovate the process and make it possible to create new garment lines of superior quality in short timeframes.

Implementation of project proposal
The project does not vary from that presented. The investment was implemented with the addition of a STOLL ADF 830-24 ki W gauge 14 rectilinear knitting machine, with the aim of expanding high-end knitwear product lines commissioned by the biggest luxury brands.

Aims achieved
The system, already in operation at the Vendemiano (Treviso) site, makes it possible for more innovative knitted garments (skirt and dress prototypes) with updated stitches and a finer weave (gauge 14) to be created, compared to those produced by the site’s existing technology. This allows orders to be fulfilled in extremely short timeframes and with high operating margins, as the machine is equipped with automatic stopping systems in the event of defects in the yarn being fed into the machine.

Activities carried out
Following an evaluation of potential suppliers, an order was placed with the incumbent system supplier, STOLL ITALIA SRL, which has proved to be reliable in delivery and assistance in the event of malfunction (including remote assistance).

Costs Incurred
Supplier: STOLL ITALIA SRL – Invoice 276R - € 120,000.00 - ADF 830-24 ki W gauge 14

Estimated overall cost: €36,000.00

Risultati ottenuti
The machine is used to create high quality jersey products, garments which represent Made in Italy in the fashion industry.
